UpValve is a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system that allows continuously variable control of the valve lift between full travel and valve shut-off.

The system is based on a low-friction Roller Finger Follower (RFF) system with Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (HLA).
With UpValve, the valves of individual cylinders can be completely shut off, while the remaining units remain active with full VVA capability.
