As an e-mobility solution the front subframe primary role continues to be vehicle ride and handling while absorbing loads from the road and isolating the NVH from the rest of the vehicle body structure. For quieter EVs with heavy battery packs the frame provides mounting locations for the steering gear, control arms, EV powertrain and crash safety structures.
