MAN’s new 18-metre electric bus and the solo bus variant impress with a reliable range of 200 km (and up to 270 km in favourable conditions) over the entire service life of the battery.
In December 2019, MAN Truck & Bus delivered the first two 12-metre electric buses to the transport operators Hamburger Hochbahn AG and Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH for everyday use in the Hanseatic port city. This year, another 13 demo vehicles will be deployed in practice as part of the e-mobility roadmap. Over the course of 2020, the demo fleet of 15 electric buses in total will then be running customers’ services in five European countries (Germany, Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium, France).
Karma’s new L4 E-Flex Van is powered by the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Pegasus™ autonomous vehicle computing platform, which achieves an unprecedented 320 trillion operations per second of deep learning. It’s built on a scalable architecture, with two NVIDIA Xavier™ processors and two Tensor Core GPUs. This energy-efficient, high-performance AI computer runs an array of deep neural networks simultaneously for safe, highly automated and fully autonomous driving. The L4 van’s software platform and sensors suite are supported by WeRide, which covers full 360-degree FoV (Field of View) and provides precise, real-time localizations powered by multiple sensors including LiDar, radar, camera, GNSS and INS.
The heart of GM’s strategy is a modular propulsion system and a highly flexible, third-generation global EV platform powered by proprietary Ultium batteries.
In North America, GM EVs will be powered by rectangular, pouch-style battery packs that are simple, lightweight and space-efficient.
GM’s ability to stack batteries vertically is unique in the industry and it allows for a flat cabin floor and more interior room than comparable EVs that use cylindrical battery packs.
The pack also allows engineers to deliver vehicles with an optimized weight distribution and a lower center of gravity to improve ride and handling.
These 100% electric 26-tonne trucks, which will be delivered in 2020, will be operated by the Feldschlösschen brewery, the Group's Swiss subsidiary.
AKASOL's flagship product is the new High Energy Battery AKASystem AKM CYC which has entered series development for the battery module and system. The AKAModule CYC achieves market leading energy density of 221 Wh/kg with liquid cooled battery modules, which are scalable and can be integrated in various system designs at the pack level.
The new AKASystem AKM CYC can be fast charged up to 1C, which is more than enough for today’s fast chargers for commercial vehicles, limited to a maximum power of 500 kW.
